Human Geography
Prof. Dr. Tim Freytag
In the context of global change, urban environments and the people residing within its boundaries are confronted with dynamic and multi-layered transformation processes. In the Human Geography chair group, these changes are approached from a constructivist-oriented research perspective, with special emphasis on social and cultural mechanisms. Ongoing research projects include the study of social inequalities, as well as the examination of approaches for sustainable urban development, geography of education and social geography. In addition, several research projects are carried out in the field of European urban tourism. For additional information on active projects, please see the section at the bottom of this page.
